The Opportunity
The AI Orchestration Architect is a hybrid business & technical role responsible for designing, building, and optimising intelligent AI systems composed of agents, workflows, and prompts—while simultaneously supporting the organisational transformation required to make these systems successful.
You will sit at the intersection of multi-agent orchestration, workflow design, prompt engineering, and organisational change. You will be our technical expert on agentic systems, but equally, you will be a change champion and trusted partner to stakeholders across the business as we transition to AI-native operations where humans and agents work seamlessly together.
You will translate ambiguous human goals into precise AI instructions, architect reusable frameworks, ensure AI agents collaborate safely and efficiently at scale, and help the organisation build the capabilities and confidence to embrace new ways of working.
This role is critical to scaling AI-driven automation while maintaining clarity, quality, and performance—and to bringing people along on the journey.
Key Responsibilities
Agent Architecture & Orchestration
Design and maintain AI agent networks—roles, capabilities, handoff logic, and how agents interact with each other and humans.
Build modular, reusable agent components and establish interaction protocols (delegation, escalation, safety guardrails).
Ensure agents operate within clear boundaries and meet governance and compliance standards.
Continuously evaluate and improve orchestration patterns based on real-world performance.
Prompt Engineering & Framework Management
Design prompt chains for multi-step and multi-agent workflows.
Build and maintain centralised prompt/agent libraries with versioning and testing frameworks.
Translate business requirements into reliable, structured AI instructions.
Establish quality standards and maintain auditable records of changes and experiments.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Monitor agent behaviour, system health, and performance in production.
Detect emergent behaviours—both beneficial and risky—and intervene proactively.
Run experiments and A/B tests; lead post-mortems to extract learnings and improve reliability.
Connect technical improvements to measurable business outcomes.
Enablement & Change Management
As part of your team’s mandate, champion the organisation's transition to AI-native operations where humans and agents work seamlessly together.
Design and deliver training on human-AI collaboration.
Help teams reimagine their processes and identify opportunities for AI augmentation.
Build enthusiasm through clear communication and demonstrated value.
Stakeholder Partnership
Build trusted relationships across teams (product, engineering, operations, and leadership).
Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Align competing priorities and bring diverse perspectives toward shared goals.
Keep leadership informed on system performance, transformation progress, and emerging opportunities.
About You
You will thrive in this role if you are:
A technical expert who can also lead change: You’re deeply skilled in building AI systems, but you understand that technology alone doesn’t drive transformation—people do. You’re as comfortable coaching a colleague as you are debugging a prompt chain.
An exceptional communicator: You can translate complex technical concepts for any audience, write with precision and clarity, and present a compelling vision that gets people excited.
A systems thinker: You see connections and dependencies others miss. You design modular, reusable architectures and anticipate second-order effects.
Autonomous and ownership-driven: You don’t wait to be told what to do. You identify what needs doing, take responsibility for outcomes (not just tasks), and drive initiatives to completion.
Stakeholder-savvy: You build relationships easily, navigate organisational complexity, and influence without authority. You can work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously and manage competing priorities with grace.
Metrics-driven: You connect your work to business outcomes. You’re energised by measurable improvements and use data to guide decisions.
Detail-oriented but pragmatic: You care deeply about quality, safety, and reliability—but you also know when “good enough” is the right call to keep momentum.
Curious and adaptable: You’re genuinely excited about AI’s potential to transform work. You experiment freely, learn quickly, and stay calm in ambiguity.
